After repeated delays, long-awaited Mighty No. 9 has finally "gone gold," according to the latest update on the Kickstarter page, and is now set to release June 21st in North America and Asia and June 24th worldwide.
Originally launched in 2013, the Kickstarter for Mighty No. 9, from the mind of Keiji Inafune (Mega Man), quickly reached and blew past its $900,000 goal, ultimately landing at over $3.8 million. More recently, however, the game has suffered multiple delays, citing the need to "resolve any network issues [and] matchmaking."
In today's update, Inafune began by apologizing to backers for the game's delays before stating, "the release date we are announcing is set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game."
This news only applies to the console and PC versions of the game, as the post goes on to mention "[p]ortable versions for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS will follow at a later point."
