And the Rest...(of my Unplayed 2015 Games)

Alright, I probably need to start focusing on the games that I am considering for my Game of the Year awards so this entry will encapsulate all of the remaining notable games I didn't get to in 2015. Unlike the previous entries, which each highlighted 5 games, this one is going to be a little different.

  • Assassin's Creed SyndicateDespite hearing, this year's Assassin's Creed was better, last year's Unity was a solid reminder of why, for the most part, I do not have fun with this series so I sat this year out and didn't feel like I was missing out on anything.
  • Cities: SkylinesI didn't have the vehement hatred toward SimCity that some people did but I wanted to give Cities: Skylines a try to reward them for giving people the SimCity game they wanted. I just wasn't really on my PC enough this year so I didn't get around to it.
  • Divinity Original Sin Enhanced EditionHeard great things about the PC version of this game and wanted to give it a try when it came to console this year but there was too much to play this Fall and this didn't make the cut.
  • Everybody's Gone to the RaptureBought this one with the intent of playing it and even had the soothing Windmill theme on my PS4 for the better part of the last few months but I never found time to just sit down with the game.
  • Galak-Z/N++/Xeodrifter: Picked up these three in this year's PlayStation "Play" Sale (already had the fourth offering Journey). But apart from playing a few levels of N++, I didn't get to any of these.
  • Her Story: I've heard great things about this one but again haven't been near my personal computer enough to sit down with it.
  • Just Cause 3: Haven't played the other Just Cause games. Tried this one briefly at PlayStation Experience and it's brand of Michael Bay to the Roland Emmerich-th degree of explosions just isn't for me.
  • Life is Strange: I've barely found time to sit down with this year's Telltale offerings of Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands - two franchises I have a passion for -  so when this unknown launched to mixed reviews, it didn't make my cut, even if people did seem to enjoy it more and m.ore as it went along.
  • Mad Max: Didn't play it when it launched because of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Didn't go back to it later because I have no emotional connection to the Mad Max franchise and wasn't overly eager for another open-world collectathon-y game.
  • Massive Chalice: I've been eager for this game since first hearing about it on Up at Noon a ways back. I picked it up on my Xbox One when it was a Game With Gold but I never found the time to play it.

  • Mortal Kombat X: Haven't really played much in the way of fighting games in recent years. Didn't feel the need to jump back in on this one.
  • Pillars of Eternity: Another victim of my focus on console gaming this year. Didn't have time for another insanely deep old-school role=playing game, no matter how much acclaim it was receiving.
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege: No connection to the franchise. No campaign to bring me into it.

  • Until Dawn: If I were in any way a fan of the horror genre, I'd have given this one a try for a weekend. But there was a moment during Gone Home when a bulb burnt out and scared me from even finished that game so the jump-scare, gore-fest of Until Dawn was never coming near my system. I'll hold off on the heart attacks, thank you very much.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Honestly couldn't tell you a single thing about this series. Just saw it up for Game of the Year stuff elsewhere so I figure it must have been a notable enough thing to include here, as well.

So there is the rest of my (by no means complete) list of notable games I missed in 2015. Maybe I'll find time for some of them here or there in the new year, but most of them will probably lose out to revisiting games live Dark Cloud and Final Fantasy VII on my PlayStation 4 instead.

What notable games did you overlook this year. Let me know in the comments or on Twitter.

Thanks for reading!
